Two alumni members of the Berry College Board of Trustees – Bert Clark (82C) and Roger Lusby (79C) – have taken a leadership role in fundraising for the eight-lane track circling Valhalla’s playing field by committing $325,000 in matching funds (all now claimed) to encourage additional gifts. Their
generosity helped spur an outpouring of support by other alumni and friends. As a result, funds raised for the track now total $667,000, with approximately 60 donors – many of them cross country and track alumni – making a gift or pledge in support of the project.
The ultimate goal is to create new opportunities for students to participate in intercollegiate athletics by providing the first-class home necessary to support Berry’s full participation in track and field as a member of NCAA Division III and the new Southern Athletic Association. The funding and completion of Clark Track has helped to make that possible.
