Self-Assessment 

  • Make an individual appointment with one of the career counselors
  • Use FOCUS 2, located on VikingWeb, to clarify your interests, skills and values 
    • Take the Strong Interest Inventory and/or Myers Briggs Type Indicator 
    • Get involved with campus activities 

    Choosing a Major 

    • Make an individual appointment with one of the career counselors 
    • Research major-related options in Career Library 
    • Attend the Majors Fair in September to explore academic opportunities at Berry  
    • Take a variety of courses, and stay open-minded about the selection of a major 
    • Utilize “What Can I Do with This Major?" to explore academic options 

    Exploring Career Options   

    • Make an individual appointment with one of the career counselors 
    • Familiarize yourself with the Career Center homepage   
    • Explore career options and conduct informational interviews utilizing the Alumni Career Network 
    • Explore the idea of doing an internship 
    • Attend academic departmental Career Conversation programs 

    Getting Experience

    • Make an individual appointment with one of the career counselors 
    • Find a summer job that interests you 
    • Participate in on-campus work/off-campus work
