Dr. Gary W. Breton Dean
Dr. Breton joined the faculty at Berry College in 1994. He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Chemistry from State University of New York at Stony Brook. His research interests include Organic Synthesis and Organic Synthetic
Methodology and Synthesis of Strained Heterocycles. During his tenure at Berry, Dr. Breton has served the chemistry department as chair, 2001-2004 and 2007-2010. In recognition of his superior scholarship, Dr. Breton was named the Callaway Professor of Organic Chemistry in 2013.
Mrs. Melanie Prater Miller (91C, 99G)
Secretary to the Dean
Melanie has been employed by Berry College since her graduation in 1991. Before she became secretary to the dean, her prior service included assistant secretary to President Gloria Shatto, administrative assistant to the vice president for finance, assistant director for Advancement
Operations, and special projects coordinator in Public Relations and Marketing. Melanie holds a B.S. in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration, both from Berry.
