The Berry College Forensics Union
What is the Forensics Union?
The Forensics Union is a competitive speech organization that fosters the enhancement of communication skills through pedagogy and practice in public speaking and oral interpretation. The team travels to several tournaments throughout the year to compete in public
address, oral interpretation and limited preparation speaking events.
Throughout the years, Berry students have amassed an impressive record of outstanding achievements, including:
- Two NFA National Pentathlon Champions.
- Four NFA Open Division Top 10 Finishes.
- Two Interstate Oratory Champions.
- 29 National Champions at Novice Nationals during the past 14 years.
- 20 consecutive GIFA State Championships.
- Two IFA International Individual Championships.
Students in any major can benefit from forensics because the communication skills you develop through speech and oral interpretation are essential in every profession. Berry College Forensics Union alumni have excelled in a variety of professions, including law, politics,
business consulting, finance, public relations, sales, academia, speech pathology, videography and medicine.
Berry College offers a Forensics Union Scholarship. To be eligible, students must commit to compete as a member of the Berry College Forensics Union. Each spring, Berry College hosts a scholarship competition for incoming freshman. To be considered for this scholarship,
students must perform a 10-minute speech or oral interpretation.
