Cage Center

The Cage Center is the recreation center for Berry College. Numerous Intramural, Fitness and Athletic programs are offered within the facilities which serve to enrich the lifestyles of our campus community.  The Department of Kinesiology is housed in the Cage Center.

The top priority for the Cage Center is Berry College students, faculty, and staff. Some facilities are also available to spouses and children of students, faculty, and staff.

Our mission is to provide recreational programs and facilities that will enhance the growth of social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and vocational needs of the Berry College Community. Campus Recreation strives to promote a healthy lifestyle, leadership development, enjoyable experiences, sportsmanship, friendship, and customer service in a collegiate environment by offering quality programs and activities.

Policies and Procedures (Faculty, Staff, and Students)

• You must have a current Berry College ID card to enter (ID cards can be made for you at the Hoge Building)
• All users are responsible for their own welfare in the Cage Center.  Berry College does not assume the responsibility for any injury acquired during the normal gym activities.  Participants should consult a doctor for advice regarding a regiment for physical activity.
• You are allowed to bring one guest provided:
        1. You are in attendance with your guest.
          2. Guest signs a waiver.
• Facilities available:
      Fitness Facility                                   Three Classrooms
      Indoor Walk/Jog Track                       Two Multipurpose Rooms
      Natatorium                                          Performance Arena
      Multi Activity Court                            Two Racquetball Courts
• These facilities may by used anytime the Cage Center is open and available (depending on schedule, see check-in desk for details).  During non-reserved times, these recreational facilities work on a first-come basis.
• These facilities may be reserved for a group function depending upon availability.  There may also be a fee associated with the reservation depending upon facility needs of group.  Contact facility director for more details.
• Appropriate attire required for all facilities.  Bathing suits only (no T-shirts) in the pool.  No black-soled or marking shoes on any court, multipurpose room or walk/jog track.  Shirt and athletic shoes required in fitness facility.
• Pease turn in all lost & found items to the check-in desk.
• Please return all equipment to check-in desk or the appropriate area.
• Please report all injuries or emergencies to the check-in desk.
• Please do not leave valuables unattended in the gym.  Lockers are available at the check-in desk.
• No pets.
• The use of Cage Center facilities outside normal operating hours (including holidays) is prohibited.

Policies and Procedures (Community and Alumni)

• You must have a current Cage Center ID card (picture ID) to enter.  You will also need this card to get on campus.  ID cards can be purchased at the check-in desk.
• All users are responsible for their own welfare in the Cage Center.  Berry College does not assume the responsibility for any injury acquired during the normal gym activities.  Please remember that the Cage Center is a student-run facility which means college holidays will be observed, some unexpected closings are possible but will be kept to a minimum, and student staff members are not qualified physical therapists or personal trainers.  Participants should consult a doctor for advice regarding a regiment for physical activity.
