Tobacco Cessation

Through the Department of Recreation, we offer tobacco cessation services to the Berry College community. These services include group and individual sessions.

The group courses are either a five week course or a one day information session. Both are designed to provide support and resources to those wanting to quit and follows the Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence Clinical Practice Guidelines. Check back for upcoming class dates.

Here are some of the topics that will be covered: 1. Addiction, withdrawal and medications that help, 2. planning for the quit date, 3. dealing with triggers, 4. overcoming cravings, 5. relapse prevention.

The individual sessions are customizable and tailored towards the individual. Purposely designed for those unable to attend a group class or not sure they are ready to quit, but wanting to learn about available resources. Members of the group course can also sign up for individual sessions for additional support.

Nicotine replacement therapy is available at no cost to the participant, when applicable.

Participation is confidential.
