Emergency Response Management
Here at Berry College, the safety of our students, faculty, and staff are of the utmost importance. In order to achieve the safest educational environment, we have several warning systems in place to keep the people on campus informed. These programs are:
- Set up through
vikingweb to send text message and email alerts to individuals to ensure the fastest diffusion of information
Berry College outdoor notification system (Dana/TB, Ford, Behind Green, Mountain Campus)
- A new installation to our Emergency Response system are large siren towers placed strategically around campus that has the ability to sound an emergency message as well as emergency sirens in case of weather advisories.
Emergency telephone stations (located in parking lots across mountain and main campus)
- Located in the parking lots around campus, both academic buildings and residence halls, are yellow phone pillars with a blue light on top that will connect you directly to the gate house to report any and all emergencies
Student and Faculty Email
- In the case of an emergency, students, faculty, and staff will receive an email from the Emergency Response Management team informing them on any and all active situations on campus.
Parents can call 706-236-2262 for information on campus emergencies.
For people wishing to contact campus safety, they are located in the gate house. The communications office is open 24 hours a day and monitors all fire, medical, weather, and security emergencies.
These systems are a being updated and maintained year round by ERM staff. For more information on the Campus alert systems, please contact Gary Will.
