|Job Summary - The Berry College Department of Fine Arts seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Berry College Symphony Orchestra for a Fall 2014 appointment. Primary responsibilities include conducting the student orchestra, teaching applied strings, recruiting for the string area and teaching courses according to departmental need and the candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will have a commitment to teaching and mentoring students in a residential liberal arts setting, will demonstrate activity in the fields of orchestral conducting and applied teaching on a regional and national level and will maintain visibility in the profession. Recruitment, scholarly or creative activity, and departmental service are expected. Consideration will be given to candidates who can also perform at an artist level.|
|Minimum Qualifications - Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in conducting or performance. A record of teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred. |
