Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science starting August 2018. Teaching responsibilities include core courses in the Computer Science program as well as electives in the candidate’s area of interest. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability and interest to also teach introductory-level Mathematics courses (elementary statistics and/or calculus). Applications from candidates in any area of research are welcome, though priority may be given to those with interests in data science, data analytics, or machine learning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching in a liberal arts environment and a desire to contribute to the culture and development of a small but growing Computer Science program. In addition to teaching, position responsibilities include developing a focused research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. ABD candidates near completion will be considered. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
