Senior Art Gallery Shows

ROME, Ga. – Berry College graduating students’ senior thesis art shows are now open at the Moon Gallery. The shows run through May 9, are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and are free and open to the public. Artists are Lauren Young, an art major from Manassas, Va.; Noelle Burdick, an art major from Kennesaw, Ga.; Brandon Litton, an art major from Rome, Ga.; Jenn Barbo, an art major from Cartersville, Pa. and Jenn Fortnash, an interdisciplinary studies major from West Palm Beach, Fla. This show represents the graduating studio art majors’ exit examination.

Berry Wind Ensemble to Conclude 2013-2014 Concert Season

ROME, Ga. - The Berry College Wind Ensemble will be concluding its season with the annual spring concert Thursday (April 24) in the Ford Auditorium. The performance at 7:30 p.m. is free and open to the public.

Featured will be Senior Lecturer and Director of Choral Studies Harry Musselwhite on “Chaos Theory” – a concerto for electric guitar and wind ensemble. Sophomore music major Matt Soares, winner of Berry’s concerto competition, will perform the “Arutiunian Trumpert Concerto.” The ensemble will also perform featured pieces by composers James Bonney, Frank Ticheli, Edward Elgar, Mark Camphouse, Eric Whitacre and David Maslanka.

The Wind Ensemble, the largest and oldest instrumental group on campus, is directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Lauren Denney Wright. It offers four concerts during the academic year, two during each semester.

Also on Monday, April 28, the Berry College Music Department presents the Woodwind Ensemble spring concert at 7:30 p.m. at Ford Auditorium. This concert is also free and open to the public.
