Computer Maintenance Responsibility

Antivirus Updates and Scanning

Please go here for antivirus and network security issues and questions.

Spyware and Adware Removal and Scanning Maintenance

It is recommended that all students update and run Ad-aware and Spybot regularly to ensure the continued good "health" of their personal computers.  Spyware and adware can slow down the operation of a computer, as well as expose your personal information to the scrutiny of others.

Environment

Surge suppressors help in protecting your computer and other electronic equipment from damaging electrical "spikes".  A UPS (uninterrupted power source) can not only protect from spikes but voltage dips (brown-outs) as well or even a total loss of power.

Disk utilities and defragmentation software can go a long way towards increasing the speed of your computer and protecting the integrity of your data.  To find out more about tune ups, visit our Resources/FAQ's page.
