Interdisciplinary Studies:
An Individualized Major Program

Pursue your passion by choosing the best courses for you from several different departments. Students at Berry whose interests go beyond the traditional academic disciplines can design their own majors with our individualized major program.

Students pursuing an individualized major program integrate classes from multiple disciplines into a unified and coherent course of study. The principle of integration can be historical, regional, thematic, or problem-focused. The major must be a unified program that is academically sound and will contribute to the individual student’s intellectual development. This program requires students to actively plan and cultivate a working relationships with their faculty advisors. The Interdisciplinary Studies major culminates in a capstone paper or project that integrates the student’s coursework.
