Welcome to Berry! Kickoff the semester at Berry with the annual New Faces showcase hosted by KCAB. First year students perform their talents for you during three different shows on the first Saturday night you're on campus. On Sunday, join Campus Outreach on Mountain Campus for the very popular slip-n-slide.
The first weekend after classes begin on campus is full of activities you won't want to miss. On Friday and Saturday night, two events are hosted that students have been waiting all summer for...the Outdoor Movie and Welcome Back Dance! Bring out your chairs, blankets, couches (yes, couches!) and trucks and watch an Outdoor Movie in Clara Bowl on a giant inflatable movie screen. Then get your dance moves ready and dance the night away at a themed Welcome Back Dance. This weekend is a great way to get out and meet new people, connect with old friends and have some fun!
Marthapalooza is a traditional, late-night carnival, that takes place on the evening of Mountain Day. Clara Bowl is set-up with carnival rides, food and game booths, bonfire, bands and other special activities that last until early morning. Students are invited to set-up a camp site and sleep in Clara Bowl after Marthapalooza concludes.
Marthapalooza is planned by a 25 member students committee. Students can apply to be a part of the committee during the spring semester and meet weekly in preparation for the event.
Overall the event brings together many student volunteers and organizations and is open to Berry students, faculty and staff, alumni and friends.
Halloween festivities are not scarce here at Berry. Throughout the Halloween weekend, participate in a variety of different activities- take a hayride around campus with Scary Berry, watch a classic thriller movie at Creature Feature, and support Breast Cancer at the Scare Away Breast Cancer Run. Finish out Halloween with a Haunted House and Dance, complete with a costume contest.
Take a trip to Vegas without even leaving Berry. Vegas Weekend typically occurs the first weekend of February every year. Throughout Friday and Saturday KCAB hosts a whole line up of Vegas-style events. There is a Black Light Dance, Casino Night complete with gaming tables, dealers, mock-tails, and prizes. Following Casino Night stay and watch a late-night Specialty Performer.
Field Frenzy is a daytime "fun day" open to Berry students only. Hosted in front of Richards Gym, students can enjoy free food like Tornado Potatoes, snow cones, Fuddruckers and Dip-n-Dots as well as live music, inflatables, Human Hamster Ball races, a rock wall and more. The event starts at lunch time and ends in late afternoon.
Field Frenzy is planned and hosted by various student leader groups including SGA, Residence Life, KCAB, MISP, and Viking Fusion.
