Crime Prevention
The Berry College Police Department is responsible for all law enforcement duties and response to emergencies occurring on campus. All crimes and emergencies should be reported to campus police. Once contacted, the department will investigate all incidents reported to them and will alert all necessary emergency personnel (fire, ambulance, etc.). The Police Department is open 24 hours a day, every day throughout the year.
Many people, especially students, report incidents to other college officials with the assumption that those officials will notify the campus police. This is not always the case. Unless you have spoken with a police officer, you cannot be sure a police report has been made.
Anyone wishing to make a police report should contact the department personally. You may file a report in person at the police department, located in the Hoge Building, Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. or to the Main Gate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department may also be reached via telephone and an officer will respond to your location for assistance.
