Abhishek Khanal

Dr. Abhishek Khanal joined Berry College in 2026 as a Physics Lecturer and Lab Coordinator. He teaches introductory and advanced physics courses and manages the department's introductory physics laboratory, where he builds active-learning practices into both lecture and lab instruction. Before coming to Berry, Dr. Khanal was a physics faculty at Kennesaw State University.

Dr. Khanal completed his Ph.D. in Physics at Clemson University, studying theoretical quantum transport in two-dimensional systems with Rashba and Dresselhaus interactions. His research centers on spintronics, quantum transport properties, spin-orbit coupling, and non-linear currents in low dimensional quantum materials. During his Ph.D., Dr. Khanal also completed a Certificate in Engineering and Science Education and held a fellowship at the Pearce Center for Professional Communication, where he developed writing strategies for undergraduate laboratory courses.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Khanal is always happy to talk about sports and the physics behind them, trade recommendations for hiking trails, or debate the latest arc of One Piece. He especially enjoys working with students to map out a career trajectory that fits their own skills, interests, and goals.
