Visiting Lecturer
Jennifer Kellogg Kelley is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of English, Rhetoric, and Writing. She received her B.A. in English from Shorter College and her M.A. in English from Clemson University, where she focused on 20th-century British literature, particularly Virginia Woolf. She went on to achieve ABD status in her PhD program at the University of Georgia where she focused on 19th-century British literature, Gothic fiction, folklore and fairytales. She has taught high school and college-level literature and writing for over 25 years and has received a number of awards and fellowships for her work, including the Carla and Leonard Wood Distinguished Faculty Fellowship for her work on classroom design and active learning as well as the Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award and was named Rome/Floyd County and Region I STAR Teacher.

Research Interests
Throughout her life, Jennifer has been fascinated by ghost legends and folklore, particularly the unique information the stories reveal about the culture and traditions of communities. Currently, she is working with local museums and historians to research and document ghost legends in Rome and Floyd County. She has collected a little over 50 ghost legends connected to Rome's historic homes, theaters, colleges, and riverfront sites.
