Dave Smith is the author of eighteen books of poetry, a novel, a collection of stories, and three books of essays. Smith's books have earned him a Guggenheim Fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships in Poetry, and a Lyndhurst Fellowship. Two of his books of poetry were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. Dave Smith is the Chairman of the Writing Seminars Department and Elliot Coleman Professor of Poetry at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
