Berry College won the Math Jeopardy Contest at the recent Mathematical Association of America Southeastern Section Conference.
The jeopardy team consisted of Will Caddell, a senior math and philosophy major, Peter Jacobson, a senior physics and math major, Zak Thacker, a junior physics and math major and Malachi West, a junior Dual Degree Engineering major.
The conference, held at Berry this year, draws more than 200 math faculty and students from Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. Participants are offered the opportunity to learn about multiple facets of the math community. Activities comprise of student/faculty presentations, faculty development workshops, plenary speakers (including the president of the Mathematical Association of America), Math Jeopardy Competition and a career fair.
