Author Jericho Parms, whose work was nominated for the Pushcart Prize, recently spoke at Berry College as part of the David James Poissant prose reading series.
Parms read a new essay that weaves information about the 1988 Spanish film “Cinema Paradisio” with art, love and the earthiness of bodies. She answered audience questions and spoke about where she finds inspiration for her writing.
Parms holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the author of “Lost Wax,” a collection of 18 essays centered on art and memory and an investigation of the language of innocence, experience and loss. Her work has been featured in American Literary Review, Brevity and Normal School of America. She is a contributing editor of the magazine Fourth Genre.
The lecture series was created by Berry English Professor Sandra Meek, in honor of LA Times Book Prize Finalist and Berry alum David James Poissant.
