A Berry College honors history major has been selected to participate in the Georgia Legislative Internship program January through April 2025.
Hannah McDaniel, a junior from Eastman, Ga., hopes to advocate for rural communities as a representative for state government once she graduates.
“I am honored to have an opportunity to serve the state of Georgia and learn how to be involved in serving different regions of the state,” McDaniel said. “I have a passion for the simplicity and beauty of rural Georgian communities and want to learn how to serve them better in my future career. I will have the opportunity to work directly with state legislators and receive first-hand experience of all the different aspects of the legislative process. Ultimately, this internship is an opportunity to learn more about my state, its government, and the people that make it my home.”
The Georgia Legislative Internship Program provides paid internships to around 35 juniors and seniors from Georgia colleges. The program gives students firsthand experience in the state legislative process. They are assigned to offices in the Georgia House of Representatives or the Georgia State Senate, where they will complete tasks such as legislative tracking, media assistance and constituent services.
