Nationally Recognized Poet to Speak at Berry

Patrick Rosal, who has earned recognition by the National Book Critics Circle and Academy of American Poets, will speak at Berry College Wednesday.

The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Krannert Ballroom and is free and open to the public.

Rosal has authored five poetry collections including “The Last Thing”, which received the William Carlos Williams Book Award, and “Bonesheperds”, which earned recognition from the National Book Critics Circle and the Academy of American Poets. Rosal was a Fulbright Fellow and a judge for the National Book Awards.

His poetry has been published in “The New York Times”, “Harvard Review”, “American Poetry Reviews” and “Poetry” among others. The film “Anhua: Amanecer” included his work, and BBC’s World Today featured him as a reader.

Rosal is an English professor at Rutgers-Camden University where he co-directs the Institute for the Study of Global Racial Justice. He earned his Master of Fine Arts at Sarah Lawrence College.
