David James Poissant Reading Series Hosts Renowned Author

Berry College recently welcomed creative author and esteemed editor Kendra Greene to present her work and expertise.

Greene is a visiting professor at the University of Texas. Additionally, she holds positions at the Nasher Sculpture Center and Southwest Review. Fellowships from Fulbright, MacDowell, Yaddo, Dobie Paisano and the Library Innovation Lab at Harvard University have led to Greene’s literary creations. She shared an excerpt from her work and offered a Q&A session for audience members.

The inspiration for this lecture series is an accomplished author and Berry alum, David James Poissant. He created the award-winning series “The Heaven of Animals,” receiving the Great Lakes Colleges Association’s New Writers Award and a Florida Book Award. Additionally, Poissant was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize.
