Motivational NFL Athlete Trent Shelton Speaks Monday

Berry College will open its annual Solidarity Week with Trent Shelton, a former NFL wide receiver and motivational speaker, on Monday, Sept. 15.

Shelton will speak at 6 p.m. in the Krannert Ballroom and the event is free and open to the public.

Today, Shelton reaches over 60 million people weekly through videos and engagement. Through the journey of leaving his career in the NFL, he discovered that what was once his standard of success, no longer fulfilled him. He quickly went into conditioning his body, went on a strict diet, and dug deeper into his faith and says this is what led him to found Rehab Time.

The Conson C. Wilson Lecture Series brings speakers of national and international note to Berry’s campus. Shelton is this year’s featured speaker.

In addition, on Thursday, the public is welcome to hear songwriter, artist and producer Jamie Grace.

Grace, a Dove Award winner, Grammy and Billboard Awards nominee, recently surpassed over 140 million YouTube views.

Grace will present a combined concert and conversation on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Krannert Ballroom. She uses music to open dialogue about neurodiversity, creativity and peace. Berry's Inclusive Post–Secondary Education program and WinShape are partners in the event.

Berry’s Solidarity Week is a yearly initiative that celebrates the rich culture and diversity on campus. There are multiple sessions throughout the week that educate students and provide a platform for a variety of worldviews and experiences.
