Berry grad is thriving in California tech industry

Over 2,000 miles from her alma mater, 2018 graduate Camille DeBrun is thriving in a fast-paced environment as a lead technical recruiter for Marius Group in Los Angeles. Combining her passion for communication with a boutique tech recruiting agency was the perfect mix for this public relations and Spanish double major.

“Our goal is to champion our clients and candidates,” Camille says. “We are super small – only 11 of us and three years old – so I wear a ton of hats and the sky is the limit! Our clients need the absolute top talent in tech.” The agency has recruited engineers from places like Facebook, Google, Uber and Lyft. “I feel crazy challenged, but in the best way,” she says.

Camille is no stranger to hard work. After graduation, she completed two back-to-back internships, her first being a marketing position with the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and the second at Covet PR firm in San Diego.

While at Berry, Camille not only made the Dean’s List every semester, but she did so while taking on the challenge of a double major workload and serving as a student orientation leader and a Young Life leader. She assisted many departments on campus like the Student Activities Office, the student-run multimedia website Viking Fusion, and worked as the digital marketing designer for the Career Center.

“Berry has helped me so much in this role by giving me the crazy drive that is needed to work at a startup,” she reflects. “I am able to take on so much responsibility and be immediately in a lead role because I learned those skills balancing numerous other things at the same time during my time at Berry.”
