Cecilia Kolbash Singer ’25 runs three businesses, including a nursery and landscaping company launched with her husband after graduation. She also operates two ventures started in college. Limitless by Grace is an adaptive clothing brand designed for individuals with physical disabilities, and Uplifted Clothing is a patchwork apparel line that spreads positivity.
Taking the time to explore
Cecilia did not enter Berry with a defined plan. Initially in public relations, she pivoted to explore her interests.
She turned her passion for fashion and sewing into a big idea — Cecilia’s Clothing Closet. The mobile fashion boutique serves children in low-income areas where transportation barriers limit access to quality clothing. This concept earned the Robert and Tessa Swarthout Entrepreneurship Launch Fund and the Entrepreneur Summer Fellows Grant.
Cecilia rethought her major under the guidance of Hope Willoughby, the associate director of career education and development. “She encouraged me to learn about fabrication devices and prototyping,” remembers Cecilia.
As a result, she opted for a major in creative technologies and minors in social entrepreneurship and business.
Berry support fuels entrepreneurial success
By sophomore year, Berry gave Cecilia the space to research, test and refine designs for Limitless by Grace. She won Berry’s Pitch competition, an event like the TV show “Shark Tank.” Investing the $10,000 prize in her business, she made it her capstone project.
Cecilia would be the first to tell you that Berry gives students the encouragement and space to discover their unique path.
“They don’t just teach you,” she notes. “They invest in you. From faculty mentorship to seed awards, Berry is uniquely equipped to help students dream big.”
