The Social Impact Challenge

The Social Impact Challenge is an opportunity for change-oriented students of all majors to compete for cash prizes by maximizing sustainability for others, communities, and our planet. Participants will receive challenge information prior to the event on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. The presentations are open to members of the Berry community to attend and gain insights on students' aspirations for social change.

The Gadget Project

All students have the opportunity to compete for venture capital seed funding for their best gadget ideas. The only criteria? The gadget must perform a function and fit, unassembled, in a standard USPS box. Selected participants will complete an 8-week mentoring process, turning their ideas into prototypes ready for the market. The final Shark Tank-like competition will take place on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m in the Krannert Ballroom.

The Pitch

Berry's annual PITCH offers participants a chance to compete for $30,000 in prize money toward funding an entrepreneurial venture. This Shark Tank-like event is open to undergraduate students of all majors, and final round pitches will take place on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This year's competition will feature two divisions: one for new ventures, and one for current revenue-generating ventures. Audience members are invited to attend and vote for their favorite pitch to win an additional $1,000 prize.

With a focus on small business and free enterprise and a partnership with the Rome/Floyd Chamber, the Spark Conference offers a presentation-style event featuring local experts from the Berry and Rome communities. Participants will present on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m, in a TED-style event, offering their expertise on this year's theme: "What the Other Generation Needs to Know."
