The Gadget Project

All students have the opportunity to compete for venture capital seed funding for their best gadget ideas. The only criteria? The gadget must perform a function and fit, unassembled, in a standard USPS box. Selected participants will complete an 8-week mentoring process, turning their ideas into prototypes ready for the market. The final Shark Tank-like competition will take place on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m in the Krannert Ballroom.

This Shark Tank-like event is open to undergraduate students of all majors, and final round pitches will take place on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This year's competition will feature two divisions: one for new ventures, and one for current revenue-generating ventures. Audience members are invited to attend and vote for their favorite pitch to win an additional $1,000 prize.

THE SPARK CONFERENCE

With a focus on small business and free enterprise and a partnership with the Rome/Floyd Chamber, the Spark Conference offers a presentation-style event featuring local experts from the Berry and Rome communities. The Innovation Cup

A light-hearted competition were students, faculty, and staff from each School will come together to solve a real-life social, environmental, or socio-economic problem presented by a local organization.⁣ On October 10th, at the Reception, the problem will be presented. The four Schools will have 72 hours to convene with their team and prepare their solution.⁣ On October 13th, the Schools present their solutions! The School with the most voted solution (by the judges) will take the Cup home!⁣ The Innovation Cup will be passed from School to School each year and the solutions proposed would help drive innovation and solutions across various industries in the region and hopefully across the nation or beyond. This event will take place at Krannert Ballroom, both days from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
