The BRAVE Project is a collaboration of effort through our Coordinated Community Response Team Our Coordinated Community Response Team includes people both from our campus and larger Rome/Floyd community.
Each individual brings a unique set of expertise, experiences, and role in supporting the work of this campus project. The team worked together to build a strategic plan of prevention, training for faculty and staff, and continues to develop policy and procedures as well as support and advocacy to survivors of interpersonal violence at Berry.
- Comprehensive Prevention
- a. Coordinate consistent and re-occurring prevention programming including bystander intervention training across campus.
- b. Annual programming for Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Dating/Domestic Violence Awareness Months.
- Student Conduct
- a. Coordinate training for advisers and adjudicators involved in the student conduct process under sexual misconduct policy.
- b. Support campus wide knowledge and understanding of the sexual misconduct policy and process.
- Law Enforcement
- a. Coordinate training related to sexual assault and gender based violence for law enforcement.
- b. Support a partnership between law enforcement and other campus safety personnel in comprehensive approach to safety for survivors across campus.
- Victim Services:
- a. Train appropriate staff members to be trauma-informed in the their roles to support student survivors
- b. Develop a working relationship with local victim services organizations and a streamlined communication for referrals.
