Student Well-Being and Support

Welcome to the Office of Student Well-being and Support! We are a resource that offers guidance on personal health and wellness, mental fitness and relational well-being.

The Office of Student Well-being and Support, led by the Director of Student Well-being and Support, oversees Berry's Peer Education program. The Director also provides crucial case management and support to students seeking mental health or wellness resources on or off campus. The Director oversees the ongoing efforts of the BRAVE Project and offers confidential support to students impacted by interpersonal conflict and violence.

We aim to support each student and our campus community in learning ways to care for themselves and others. We want to help everyone on campus seek and sustain a healthy life and form healthy connections with others. We do this through outreach programming, community events, one-on-one support, and collaboration for a healthy campus. Our efforts are focused on three main areas: health and wellness, mental health and well-being, and relational health and safety.

Student Support

Our student team of educators are NASPA Certified Peer Educators (CPE). Peer Educators are trained in active listening and motivational interviewing to provide one-on-one support. As knowledgeable leaders in our campus community, they can connect students to resources, whether professional staff or community partners, to offer ongoing support.

Campus Collaboration

Our office collaborates with other departments, student groups, and organizations to integrate health and well-being into our campus culture and community. We can partner in providing various training and educational opportunities across campus and are eager to support programs that enhance a healthy community where everyone experiences belonging and can flourish. For example, if you are training a group of students for professional staff, Peer Educators can provide Bystander Intervention leadership training to your student professional staff.
