John Coleman (04C) and Roger Lusby (79C) have succeeded Rick Gilbert (77c) and Bert Clark (82C) as chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Berry College Board of Trustees. Brian Brodrick (97C), photo at left, joins them as a new trustee.

“It’s a privilege to be asked by my board colleagues to serve as chair,” Coleman expressed, praising Gilbert and Clark for their past leadership. “We love our school deeply and are committed to holding fast to our mission and values while furthering Berry’s potential as one of the best places to work and study in America. I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited for the future.”

A national speech champion as a student who subsequently earned induction into the National Forensic Association Hall of Fame, Coleman today is co-CEO and managing partner of Sovereign’s Capital, a leader in faith-aligned investing. Also a noted public speaker and author, he has written four books and numerous articles for the likes of Forbes and Harvard Business Review. He and wife Jackie Feit Coleman (05c) have four children.

Lusby retired in 2024 as managing partner for the Alpharetta, Georgia, office of Frazier & Deeter, LLC, a global professional services firm. Among many distinctions earned during nearly four decades in tax accounting and estate planning, he was recognized as a “Five Star Wealth Manager” by Atlanta magazine and a “Top 10 CPA in Georgia” by the National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals. He and wife Candy Caudill Lusby (82c) have two daughters and four grandchildren.

An All-America distance runner at Berry, Brodrick is now a board member and partner with Jackson Spalding, an award-winning public relations and marketing agency, and mayor of his hometown of Watkinsville, Georgia. He was a member of Berry’s Board of Visitors from 2010 to 2025, including one term as chair that included concurrent service on the Board of Trustees. He and wife Susan Wells Brodrick (97C) – also an All-America athlete at Berry – have three children.
