Tier I Educational Leadership Certificate
Tier I certification is required for all prospective candidates for leadership positions. It is equivalent to a master’s degree. Applicants for this certification can be from any educational position.
Tier II Educational Leadership Certificate
Tier II certification is for prospective candidates seeking certification at the specialist level in leadership. The candidates must have Tier 1 certification prior to enrolling in a Tier 11 program. The program is designed for principals and system level leaders that supervise certified staff.
Endorsements
Autism Endorsement
This course sequence is designed provide skills for teachers to meet the needs of the growing number of students on the autism spectrum. The endorsement includes courses designed to introduce teachers to the research and best practice in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, including coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis- the primary evidence-based treatment for addressing the needs of children with ASD.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Endorsement
Berry College offers an ESOL endorsement to an existing Georgia teaching certificate. This program is designed to provide a knowledge base of research, theory, values and methodology to prepare individuals to teach youngsters whose native language is not English.
Reading Endorsement
A reading endorsement may be added to any existing Georgia teaching certificate. The program is designed to strengthen and enhance the basic competency levels of any certified classroom teacher to teach reading and literacy instruction appropriate for his or her teaching field.
